Programming

We program CAPI/CAWI or CATI for data collection.

We always follow the logic of the questionnaire, which makes it possible to identify contradictory statements at the point of data entry. Images, videos or audio files can also easily be integrated. Surveys can be carried out in any language.

We are always happy to take the client’s own ideas into account when designing the survey.

On the following pages, you will see some examples of new, animated elements which can easily be integrated into the questionnaire for adding some variety to your survey.

  • Ad recognition test in the form of a puzzle
  • An image shown for a predefined timespan
  • Measure of time needed to recognise a brand in videos
  • Comparing objects with each other on a scale
  • Products arranged on a scale
  • Arranging pictures or texts in a ranking list
  • Choosing and rating from a stack of items
  • Rating on a scale with a slider
  • Allocation of ratings to different products
  • Marking and adding comments to ratings
  • Marking and adding comments to texts and areas
  • Arranging objects within a two-dimensional area
  • Arranging products freehand within an area
  • Marking points inside an image
  • Allocation of brands to images
  • Making purchases from a shelf
  • Rotating objects and rating them
  • Rating a video as it is playing
  • Browsing images

Additional options

CAPI

The data is entered on a PC or a laptop on which the survey software (made available by us) has been installed. An internet connection is not necessary during the procedure. Data can also be collected offline with an Android or iOS smartphone or tablet on which the App for conducting interviews has previously been installed.

With the CAPI method, interviewers are responsible for conducting the survey and entering the data.

CAWI

The data is collected on a device that is connected to the internet – this can be a PC/laptop or even a tablet or smartphone. Because the data is entered online using a web browser, it is possible to comprehensively monitor the quotas – for instance, if a quota has already been reached, the interview can be terminated automatically.

Least-fill method – An interview can contain questions asking about a number brands randomly selected from the pool of brands familiar to the respondent. The brands given the least amount of consideration in the interviews completed so far can be given a higher priority via quota management.

The data can be entered either by an interviewer or by the respondents themselves; no special programme is needed aside from a web browser.

Individual links can be sent from within the programme as well as reminder emails to people such as those who have not yet completed the survey. Individual links can also be passed on to external panel suppliers who are handling the recruitment. Status links can also be set up that directly notify the panel supplier if an interview is incomplete or was terminated for some reason.

CATI

The data is collected by a call centre in the form of a telephone survey. People are randomly selected from an existing sample. Besides offering quota management (just like CAWI does by determining quotas based on the information entered), it is also possible to determine additional quotas on the basis of data already provided by the sample. Addresses (sample data records) that would fall into a quota that has already been reached will not appear. A CATI can also be designed as an interactive interview in which the respondents are either shown stimulus materials, or it is also possible to have the respondents complete part of the survey themselves under the supervision of the call centre agent.

Additional options

Of course, any desired combination of these methods can be implemented. For example, a respondent may be recruited and screened over the telephone, and then be sent an individual link allowing them to complete the rest of the survey unaided.

We can provide online access to external studios or clients. A detailed rights management makes it possible for you to view or even change quotas; to request previously prepared analysis reports of individual questions; to request the data for these questions in the form of an Excel or CSV file; or even to send a mail merge.

Formats

Once all of the data has been collected, it will always be subject to a quality control process which includes a plausibility check, removal of potentially inconsistent data, and if necessary, any subsequent collection of data.

We can provide the cleaned data to the client in a choice of formats:

  • ASCII
  • CSV
  • Triple-S
  • Excel
  • SPSS
  • Column binary

We will either adhere strictly to previous specifications, or we will include an explanation of the data should there be a need for any changes.
